Today, Michael is collaborating with the Lebanese American University’s (L.A.U.) Faculty of Engineering, and INDEVCO Group (Phoenix Energy) to make walking a possibility and reality for more people. As he says, “everything you do in reality echoes in eternity. And when you do something great you will plant positivity in your land, in the soil, believe me…” the studies began. The team rose to work inspired by the innovative way Michael walks, being the only person in the world to do so with this spinal paralysis, and the techniques with which he balances his body, calculates each step, and demonstrates significant upper energy. Their vision was to allow more people to walk by advancing a mechanical system that is cost efficient, lightweight, and effective in providing balance and performance, in place of the bulky and low-performing exoskeleton that exists today.
