Michael uses his story to fight for better policies, procedures and practices for Persons with Disabilities around the globe.
Throughout my tenure as a Regional Goodwill Ambassador for UNDP and beyond, I will continue to employ my story, my voice, and my steps to serve good purposes for my fellow people with disabilities, all people in need, and our shared and beleaguered planet.
Beirut Walk for Inclusion
October 2018, under the SAC, Michael completed the Beirut Walk for Inclusion, a UN initiative jointly led by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) to improve service for PwD and ensure that the rebuilding of parts of Beirut destroyed in the Port Explosion of 4 August 2020, is done in an inclusive and accessible manner.

Egypt Walk for Inclusion
With the ancient pyramids of Giza as their witness, Michael accompanied in December 2020 around fifty differently-abled Egyptian athletes as they completed the Egypt Walk for the Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities (PwD) to highlight the importance of assistive technologies in expanding horizons of independence and public participation for PwD in Egypt.
The Egypt Walk for Inclusion is a UNDP initiative to promote local production and development of assistive technologies that facilitate the lives of persons with disabilities and enhance their participation in communities. The walk was organized by the Egyptian Sports Federation for Intellectual Disabilities in partnership with UNDP, under the auspices of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism & Antiquities and UNICEF, World Health Organization Egypt, Ahl Masr NGO, and Regional Bureau for Sciences in the Arab States- Cairo.
